Apethorpe Hall, Northamptonshire: The rescue of an English country house 

We are pleased to welcome Nick Hill, English Heritage National Conservation Projects Manager.

A home to the wealthy and a favourite of royalty, Apethorpe Hall, near Oundle in Northamptonshire was controversially abandoned to decay and ruin in the last two decades of the 20^th century.  In 2004 it was saved for the nation by English Heritage and this unique building, with its rare intact Jacobean interiors, is now undergoing painstaking conservation.
