An evening with Eric Knowles on Archibald Knox, kindly sponsored by Lloyds Bank at the Manx Museum
Eric Knowles is a leading expert in decorative arts and a well-known face in the world of antiques, particularly to viewers of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.
In this exclusive evening for the Friends of Manx National Heritage, Eric will talk about the life and work of Archibald Knox, school master and Liberty designer, whose unique style made him one of the foremost artistic designers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. During his career Knox produced over 400 metalwork and jewellery designs for the London store, making him one of Liberty & Co.’s most popular and prolific designers.
Doors open at 6pm. Talk commences at 6.30pm, followed by question and answers. Drinks and canapés reception before the talk. The evening includes an opportunity to bring along a small item for Eric’s expert opinion.
